Escaip Manzur received his Bachelors and Masters in Economy from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), and a post-graduate degree in Public Administration from Harvard.

He is a successful businessman and has lived in Cancun for many years.  He has occupied important posts, such as his tenure as Chairman of the Employers Confederation of the Mexican Republic (COPARMEX) from 2004-2006 and, since September, 2006 as Chairman of the Mexico-US Chamber of Commerce-Cancun Chapter.  Escaip Manzur currently serves as Chairman of the Quintana Roo State Competitiveness Council and is a member of the faculty and Board of Regents of the University of Quintana Roo.
